Interstate Police Pursuit Ends in Delaware with Guns, Drugs Seized

Marydel, DE – Todd Hockensmith, 36, of Felton, Delaware was arrested on numerous felony charges following a multi-state pursuit that ended in Marydel on Thursday morning.

Delaware State Police responded to a call from the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office at approximately 9:15 a.m. in the 3000 block of Mahan Corner Road. Hockensmith was pursued from Maryland in a dark green Ford Explorer due to outstanding warrants.

The pursuit concluded when Hockensmith crashed into a carport and an unoccupied Ford F150.

He then fled on foot before being apprehended by Caroline County Sheriff’s deputies. No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.

A subsequent search of Hockensmith’s vehicle yielded ammunition, two concealed shotguns, stolen personal identification cards, and bank cards.

One of the IDs was connected to an ongoing Troop 3 burglary investigation. Authorities also found approximately .54 grams of suspected Psilocybin mushrooms. A computer check revealed active warrants for Hockensmith for burglary, theft, and traffic offenses.
