Investigation Underway After Woman Found Dead in Lower Manhattan

NEW YORK, NY – Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 38-year-old woman found inside a building at 54 Watts Street in the 1st Precinct area of Lower Manhattan. The discovery was made on Thursday, February 8, 2024, after authorities responded to a 911 call around 10:30 AM.

Upon arrival, officers found the woman unconscious and unresponsive. Emergency Medical Services were called to the scene and pronounced her dead shortly after their arrival. The cause of death has yet to be determined and will be investigated by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the woman’s death. Police have not released her identity, pending notification of her family.
