Jackson family appeals board denial of swingset in front yard

JACKSON, NJ – By township ordinance, swingsets are not allowed in the front yards of homes in Jackson Township. One family who was denied a variance to construct one is appealing the town’s denial.

Israel & Rivka Alt have filed an appeal with the Jackson Township Board of Adjustment regarding the Zoning Office’s denial of their application for a variance.

The application seeks permission to install a 6 ft. solid fence and a structure (play set) in the front yard area, where it is currently prohibited.

The appeal hearing will take place on May 17, 2023, at 7:00 p.m., at the Jackson Township Municipal Building located at 95 West Veterans Highway.

Swingsets are prohibited in the township in front yards.
