JACKSON, NJ – Mother nature allowed the Jackson Memorial Day parade to run as scheduled on Monday with clear blue skies, before rain took over for the rest of the day.
Hundreds of residents lined Manhattan Street and Kierych Memorial Drive enroute to Johnson Park where local veterans, police officers, civic groups, along with the Jackson Liberty and Memorial marching bands marched in honor of America’s fallen heroes.
They were joined by local sports teams, girl scouts, boy scouts and other civic groups.
Jackson Council President Jennifer Kuhn marched alongside Councilmen Mordechai Burnstein, Steve Chisolm, and Nino Borelli.
“We had a great turnout considering the bad weather forecast, and luckily, the rain held off until later in the day,” said Council President Kuhn. “I am so proud of all who came out, marched, and honored our veterans on such a solemn day.”
The parade was organized by the P.O. Mike Basso of Jackson PBA 168 and Jackson VFW Post 4703.
