Jefferies hires Credit Suisse banker Gegenheimer for tech dealmaking -sources

(Reuters) – Jefferies has hired Credit Suisse investment banker Jon Gegenheimer in its latest efforts to boost its U.S. technology dealmaking franchise, according to people familiar with the matter.

Gegenheimer, who was a managing director at Credit Suisse and is based in San Francisco, will report to Cameron Lester and Jason Greenberg, the global co-heads of technology, media, and telecom investment banking at Jefferies, the sources said, requesting anonymity.

Jefferies and Credit Suisse declined to comment.

Gegenheimer’s appointment will further bolster Jefferies’ investment banking unit, after it recently hired several top dealmakers from rivals, including John Miller, Kurt Kohlmeyer and Richard Siegel from Barclays and Ron Eliasek from Bank of America.
