JACKSONVILLE, FL – In June, 2021, the Special Assault Unit of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into the report of numerous sex crimes against a child. During the course of the investigation, the suspect was identified and interviewed. On Thursday, July 8, 2021, Jeffrey Lawrence Bedwell (White/Male 38) was arrested for Lewd/Lascivious Battery and Lewd/Lascivious Molestation on a child. At the time the suspect was committing these crimes, he was employed as a pastor at multiple area churches.
