Jersey City, NJ – A 41-year-old man has been arrested after investigators said he groped an 11-year-old girl inside a Jersey City store last month, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office announced Friday.
Prince Fullwood, of Jersey City, is charged with sexual assault by contact, a second-degree crime, and endangering the welfare of a child, a third-degree crime. He was taken into custody at his home on Sept. 18 by members of the Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending a court appearance.
Authorities said the incident occurred on Aug. 31 inside a store near Summit Avenue and Baldwin Avenue. The juvenile victim reported that she was groped by an unknown man while inside the business.
Acting Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello credited the arrest to the Special Victims Unit with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department.
Officials emphasized that the charges are accusations and that Fullwood is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
