Jersey City School Crossing Guard Arrested for Insurance Fraud

JERSEY CITY, NJ – A Jersey City security guard, employed by the Jersey City Public Schools was arrested by members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Insurance Fraud Unit for submitting fraudulent medical claims to her insurance company.

According to prosecutors, Shalonda Bullock, 34, of Jersey City, has been charged with one count of Insurance fraud.

Police reported Bullock was arrested at her place of employment on Tuesday and released on a summons pending her first court appearance.

“The investigation revealed Bullock submitted multiple fraudulent claims for payment to AFLAC insurance between 2019 and 2021. The policy was obtained through her employment at the Jersey City Public Schools,” Hudson City Prosecutor Esther Suarez.
