Jury Finds Depew Man Guilty of Murder

ERIE COUNTY, NY – A jury recently found Sayed Nasir, a 40-year-old from Depew, guilty of Murder in the Second Degree and Aggravated Criminal Contempt. The jury returned the verdict after 33 minutes of deliberation following a five-day trial.

On the afternoon of November 20, 2021, Nasir illegally entered his ex-wife’s North Creek Drive residence in Depew, violating an existing protection order. His ex-wife, 33-year-old Nazeefa D. Tahir, was fatally stabbed numerous times.

Nasir is scheduled to be sentenced on Monday, August 7. He remains in custody without bail. Nasir could face 25 years to life in prison. At the time of the crime, he was on probation due to a prior domestic violence conviction involving his ex-wife.
