WASHINGTON, DC — The Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department has arrested three juveniles following a recent unarmed carjacking incident in Southeast D.C.

The carjacking took place shortly after 8 p.m. Saturday, at the 300 block of 9th Street. According to the report, one of the suspects entered a ride-share vehicle and assaulted the driver, forcing them to exit the car. Subsequently, two additional suspects joined in, commandeering the vehicle before fleeing the scene.

Police later located the stolen vehicle in the 1600 block of 28th Street. While surveilling, officers observed four individuals departing from the car. After a brief pursuit, three of the suspects were successfully apprehended.

The detained individuals, all male juveniles, include a 15-year-old from Southeast D.C. and two others aged 14 and 12, from Northwest DC. They face charges of unarmed carjacking,
