Killers sought in deadly Bronx summer execution: Here they are

Bronx, NY – Police are searching for a gunman who fatally shot a 33-year-old man in the head during a late-night attack on Westchester Avenue earlier this summer.

The deadly shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, in front of 1629 Westchester Avenue, within the 43rd Precinct. Investigators say the suspect approached the victim, pulled out a firearm, and fired a single shot before fleeing the scene on foot.

Emergency responders rushed the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was pronounced dead. His name has not been released pending family notification.

The suspect is described as a man with a medium complexion and slim build. At the time of the killing, he was wearing a black t-shirt with multicolored lettering, black pants, black-and-red sneakers, and carried a black backpack. He was last seen running eastbound on Westchester Avenue toward Harrod Avenue.

The NYPD has released surveillance images and is urging anyone with information about the suspect’s identity or whereabouts to contact the department’s Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
