Knife-Wielding Suspect Arrested in Northeast D.C. Robbery

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Police have apprehended a suspect involved in an armed robbery that took place on Monday afternoon in Northeast Washington.

Around 2:10 p.m. on August 19, officers were flagged down in the 1500 block of Benning Road, Northeast, by a victim who reported being robbed by two individuals. One of the suspects brandished a knife during the robbery, according to authorities.

Responding officers quickly arrested one of the suspects at the scene. Following an investigation, 45-year-old Antonio McCoy of Northeast, D.C., was charged with armed robbery.

A reward of up to $10,000 is available for information leading to an arrest and conviction in cases of violent crime in the District.
