Lakehurst Board of Education Suing Jackson Man After DUI Crash at Elementary School

LAKEHURST, NJ – A Jackson man is being sued in a civil case filed by the Lakehurst Board of Education in an attempt to recoup $16,000 in losses suffered when he crashed through school property, causing damage.

Police said David M. Rehl was charged with DUI and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash after he drove through the school playground fence, causing damage to parked cars, school buses, and a fire hydrant on school grounds.

The BOE civil case is separate from Lakehurst Police Department criminal charges.
