LANCASTER, PA – Carlos Almanzar-Torres, a 23-year-old from Lancaster, was sentenced to life imprisonment without parole, plus an additional 20 months to 4 years, for first-degree murder and recklessly endangering others.

The sentencing was delivered by President Judge David Ashworth on Thursday, following a jury conviction in October 2023.

Almanzar-Torres was found guilty of the murder of 19-year-old Damian Santiago, which occurred inside a local Sunoco/A-Plus store on March 14, 2022.

The incident, stemming from a dispute over $50, resulted in Santiago’s death and endangered the lives of two store employees.

Assistant District Attorney CJ Restemayer emphasized the gravity of Almanzar-Torres’ actions during the trial.
