Landlord stabs tenant with icepick over water shut off

COLUMBUS – A landlord allegedly stabbed his tenant during an argument that broke out as he tried to shut off water to the victim’s home. On February 6, 2022, at 8:40 pm, officers were dispatched to the area of 200 Whitethorne Ave. on the report of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers located the victim and a witness. They advised officers that the suspect, the victim’s landlord, arrived and was trying to cut the water to the residence. When the victim went to speak to him about it, they argued and fought.

The suspect used the cutting instrument he was using to chop up the ice and snow around the water shutoff and stabbed the victim one time in the side before fleeing the scene. The victim was treated at the scene. This incident is still under investigation.
