Lanham Mother Charged in Fatal Stabbing of Her Own Son

Lanham, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has charged Querida Rivera, 42, of Lanham, in the fatal stabbing of her 21-year-old son, Cristos Johnson, also from Lanham. The tragic incident occurred inside their home.

On January 25, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 8000 block of Greenfield Drive at around 7:15 AM following reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, they found Johnson with a stab wound. He was later pronounced dead at a hospital.

The initial investigation indicates the stabbing happened during an altercation between Rivera and her son. After consulting with the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office, Rivera has been charged with first-degree murder among other related charges. She was arrested earlier today and has been placed in the custody of the Department of Corrections.
