Large Fight Breaks Out at Sussex Central High School Graduation

SUSSEX, DE – The Delaware State Police are investigating a brawl that broke out at the conclusion of the Sussex Central High School graduation ceremonies on Tuesday, at approximately 8:40 p.m.

Troopers working the graduation detail responded to a large crowd engaged in a fight outside the main gate. During the brawl, a 16-year-old girl was observed assaulting a 48-year-old Millsboro woman.

A 29-year-old Millsboro man was also seen punching at people during the melee.

Despite the efforts of Troopers to disperse the crowd and conduct an investigation, most participants left the scene before they could provide statements.

However, the following day, the 48-year-old woman and her 15-year-old daughter reported their injuries.

An arrest warrant for the 16-year-old girl involved in the assault has been issued on charges of Assault Third Degree (two counts) and Disorderly Conduct. Investigations into the incident continue.
