Largo High School teacher arrested for sexual relationship with student

A Prince Georges County Public School teacher has been arrested for a sexual assault committed against a student. Lonnie Elias, Jr., according to the Prince Georges County Police Department is alleged to have had a relationship with a former student between 2015 and 2017.

After being interviewed by detectives, the school district was made aware of the allegation and he was placed on administrative leave on October 2nd.

 The State’s Attorney’s Office presented the case for indictment on October 18 and a Grand Jury issued a warrant for the suspect for sex abuse of a minor and other related charges.

He was apprehended by the fugitive task force. He was employed by the school district since 2007.
