Late-Night Daycare Heist Sparks Urgent Manhunt in Southeast D.C.

Washington, DC – A suspect is being sought in connection with a burglary that occurred at a daycare in Southeast, Washington, DC.

On October 11, at approximately 10:30 p.m., the suspect forcibly entered the establishment located in the 1100 block of Varney Street, Southeast. After stealing property from the daycare, the suspect fled the scene.

Surveillance camera footage captured images of the suspect, which may assist in the investigation.

Anyone who can identify the suspect or has information about the incident is urged to call police at (202) 727-9099 or text tips to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The D.C. Metro Police Department is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of those responsible for crimes committed in the District of Columbia.
