Late-Night Shooting Claims One Life Near Shaw-Howard Metro Station

Washington, D.C. – D.C> Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened last night in Northwest D.C. The shooting occurred around 11:25 p.m. Police responded to S Street Northwest, near 9th Street Northwest a block away from Shaw-Howard University Metro, after receiving a report of gunfire.

When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Medics attempted to treat him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are searching for a black man wearing a white or grey shirt and dark pants. The suspect was last seen leaving in an unknown direction in a black sedan.
