Laurel Man Arrested for Burglary at Lakeshore Wine and Spirits

LAUREL, DE – The Delaware State Police have apprehended Shawn Jones, 30, of Laurel, Delaware, for a burglary case at Lakeshore Wine and Spirits. The incident happened earlier this month.

On July 13, troopers responded to a reported burglary at Lakeshore Wine and Spirits at 30728 Sussex Highway.

Investigation unveiled that an unknown black man had broken a window to gain entry and stole merchandise. With the help of Seaford Police Department, Shawn Jones was identified as the suspect.

On Tuesday, Jones was apprehended by the Laurel Police Department for a different theft case in their jurisdiction. He was handed over to the Troop 4 Detectives, who then pressed charges for Burglary Third Degree, Criminal Mischief, and Criminal Trespass Second Degree.

Jones has been arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and is currently held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $3000 secured bond.
