JONESTOWN, PA — A $1 million Mega Millions ticket winner received a commemorative check at BG’s Value Market in Jonestown, Lebanon County, where the lucky ticket was sold. The Pennsylvania Lottery and the store held the celebration today, acknowledging the retailer with a $5,000 bonus for the sale.

April Zipp, 58, from Lebanon County, recounted how the winning ticket was a birthday gift from her husband. She discovered her win using the Lottery’s app on her birthday, following her husband’s purchase of the ticket at BG’s the previous day. Overwhelmed by the news, Zipp expressed her joy and plans for the future, including continuing her work as a school bus driver and potentially traveling in an RV with her husband.

Pennsylvania Secretary of Revenue Pat Browne and BG’s Value Market Owner Dianne Koval congratulated Zipp on her win, highlighting the impact of lottery players and retailers on funding vital services for older Pennsylvanians.
