MIDDLE DISTRICT OF PENNSYLVANIA – Warionex Martinez-Medina, 35, from Lebanon, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to 106 months in prison by U.S. District Court Judge Jennifer P. Wilson. The sentence is for attempting to possess with intent to distribute approximately 2 kilograms of cocaine and possessing a firearm in connection with the offense.
U.S. Attorney Gerard M. Karam stated that Martinez-Medina had admitted to receiving a package containing over 2 kilograms of cocaine. A subsequent search warrant executed at his Lebanon residence resulted in the discovery of a loaded handgun, drug-packaging materials, and over $123,000.
The U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the Pennsylvania State Police conducted the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Carlo D. Marchioli was responsible for prosecuting the case. The sentence reflects the serious nature of drug trafficking combined with firearm possession.
