Leonia Man Arrested on Child Assault Allegations

LEONIA, NJ – Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella has announced the arrest of Anibal Oyola, a 39-year-old gymnastics instructor from Leonia, NJ.

Charges include aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault by sexual contact, and endangering the welfare of a child.

The arrest came after a thorough joint investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Leonia Police Department.

On Monday, the Leonia Police Department liaised with the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office’s Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual misconduct against a minor.

Investigations revealed Oyola’s repeated offenses against a child below the age of 13 in Leonia over a six-month span.
