LEWES, DE – Laura Wilson, 52, of Lewes, Delaware, was recently taken into custody by the Delaware State Police. She faces charges of felony DUI and resisting arrest following a pursuit in Lewes.

The incident occurred on Thursday, at approximately 12:56 a.m., when a trooper observed a gray Jeep Grand Cherokee without its headlights on, heading westbound on John J. Williams Highway. Despite the trooper’s efforts to halt the vehicle, Wilson failed to comply, resulting in a pursuit. Upon apprehending Wilson, the trooper noticed signs of impairment and the smell of alcohol. A computer check confirmed Wilson’s two previous DUI convictions.

Charges filed against Wilson include third-offense DUI, disregarding a police officer signal, resisting arrest, and numerous traffic offenses. Following arraignment, she was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $6,307 secured bond.
