Life Sentence for Circle K Murder Convict in Flagler County

FLAGLER COUNTY, FL — Marcus Chamblin has been sentenced to life in prison following his conviction for the murder of Deon Jenkins at a Circle K in October 2019. The Flagler County jury also found him guilty of Attempted Second Degree Murder and Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle.

Judge Perkins delivered Chamblin’s sentence immediately after the verdict, imposing a life sentence for the murder, plus an additional 30 years for attempted murder, and 15 years for shooting into an occupied vehicle, all to be served consecutively.

Sheriff Rick Staly expressed his gratitude towards the jury and investigative team, noting, “Now this killer will have the rest of his life behind bars to regret his decision to take the life of another young man.” The prosecution of Chamblin’s co-defendant, Derrius Bauer, is scheduled for the upcoming summer.
