Linthicum Heights stabbing leads to arrest of 24-year-old suspect

LINTHICUM HEIGHTS, Md. — A 24-year-old man has been arrested following a stabbing incident at the Sonesta Suites BWI hotel on January 21, 2025, that left both the victim and the suspect injured.

Officers responded to a report of a stabbing at approximately 4:20 p.m. at the hotel, located on Winterson Road. Investigators determined the altercation stemmed from an ongoing dispute between the suspect and the 49-year-old male victim, who were known to each other. During the altercation, the suspect, identified as Jahmai Tai Devon, retrieved a knife and stabbed the victim.

In the course of the attack, Devon also sustained a self-inflicted injury. Emergency responders transported both men to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

A warrant for Devon’s arrest was issued and served upon his release from the hospital.
