Long Beach Man Arraigned for DWI Motorcycle Crash that Killed Pedestrian

NASSAU COUNTY, NY – On Monday, a Long Beach man was arraigned on manslaughter and other charges for a motorcycle crash that killed a pedestrian in Rockville Centre in March 2022. Christopher Flores, 27, was allegedly driving his 2020 BMW motorcycle while under the influence of drugs and alcohol when he struck 42-year-old Scott Brower, who was crossing Merrick Road at South Forest Avenue in a crosswalk.

Brower was transported to Nassau University Medical Center but was later pronounced dead.

Flores was thrown from the motorcycle, which crashed into another vehicle before coming to a rest. The defendant also suffered significant physical injuries and was transported to Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital in Oceanside for treatment.

He pleaded not guilty and was released to pre-trial services. Flores is due back in court on May 30, 2023, and if convicted, he faces up to five to 15 years in prison.
