Hackensack officers say dog discovered near Summit Avenue without ID tag
HACKENSACK, N.J. – A gray-and-white pit bull mix was found roaming a Hackensack neighborhood Friday, prompting a public call from police to locate the animal’s owner after officers determined the dog had no identification tag.
The dog was discovered in the area of South Summit Avenue and Parker Avenue, wearing a collar but lacking any tag that could immediately identify its owner, according to a statement released by the Hackensack Police Department on social media.
Officials said the dog appeared to be in stable condition and was secured after being located in the residential area.

“We located this male pit bull mix in the area of S Summit and Parker. The dog is wearing a collar but does not have a tag. If you are the owner or have any information, please contact the Hackensack Police Department,” the agency said in its post.
The dog, described as a male pit bull mix with a short coat and distinct gray-and-white markings, was photographed secured inside a police vehicle following its recovery.
