Hudson County player hits $296K jackpot on Fast Play ticket in Jersey City
JERSEY CITY, NJ – A Hudson County lottery player scored a $296,935 windfall on Saturday after purchasing a winning Fast Play Jersey Jackpot! ticket at a local mini market in Jersey City.
The ticket, which captured 100% of the Fast Play Progressive jackpot, was bought at One Hope Mini Market located at 246 Griffith Street. The jackpot win was confirmed and reported on Monday.
The player’s win resets the Fast Play Progressive jackpot, which has dropped back to its starting point — currently around $50,000 — and will continue to climb as tickets are purchased across the state.
The Fast Play system is designed for instant results without drawings. Each ticket contributes a portion of its value toward the growing statewide jackpot, depending on the denomination purchased. Both $10 and $20 Fast Play tickets qualify players for the full jackpot, while lower-price tickets win partial percentages based on the prize structure.
This jackpot adds to the growing list of recent wins claimed throughout New Jersey, highlighting the continued popularity of Fast Play games.
The New Jersey Lottery has returned nearly $34.6 billion to the state since its launch in 1970. Under a 30-year law enacted in 2017, profits now help support the public employee pension system.
