Baltimore County Landscaper Hits Racetrax Win on Trifecta Bet in Perry Hall
PERRY HALL, Md. — A Baltimore County landscaper scored a Racetrax win after placing a trifecta box bet that paid off in the April 1 drawing, Maryland Lottery officials said.
The winning ticket was purchased at Perry Hall Petro on Belair Road, where the player frequently stops to play both Keno and Racetrax. This time, she opted for a trifecta box bet using horses 10, 11 and 12 — a move that ultimately secured the win.
A trifecta box bet allows players to win if their selected horses finish first, second and third in any order. The race played out in dramatic fashion, with horse 11 finishing first, followed by 12 and 10, locking in the win while the player was still inside the store.
Despite the excitement, the winner remained composed as the results came in. She said she plans to use her winnings to help pay bills and has only shared the news with a small circle of close friends and the store clerk.
The retailer that sold the ticket will also receive a bonus for the winning sale.
