Machete-Wielding man arrested after Newark Airport fight turns violent

NEWARK, NJ – A man wielding a machete was arrested outside of Terminal C at Newark International Aiport after pulling a machete during a fight. Port Authority Police confirmed that at around 5:45 pm on Wednesday, they were called in response to a scuffle when one man pulled the machete.

“One of the individuals involved in the physical altercation had pulled a machete from his vehicle and began waving it in an offensive manner in the vicinity of one of the officers,” Port Authority Police Department said in a statement.

Yarrian Diaz, 20, was charged with possession of a weapon and resisting arrest. Three men who tried to flee the scene were arrested by airport security and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
