Machete-Wielding Suspect Apprehended in Downtown Boston

BOSTON, MA – On Tuesday, at approximately 8:57 PM, officers from District A-1 (Downtown) arrested Herve Masini, a 29-year-old Roxbury resident, on charges of possession of dangerous weapons.

Officers were called to the area of Tremont Street and Winter Street following reports of a suspect swinging what appeared to be a machete. Upon arrival, the officers instructed Masini to drop the weapon, to which he complied.

A subsequent search of Masini revealed a machete with a 10.75-inch blade and an 8-inch grip. Masini was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a dangerous weapon and disorderly conduct. He is scheduled for arraignment in Boston Municipal Court.
