Man arrested after New Year’s Eve shooting in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — A man was arrested after police responded to a weapons discharge incident just before midnight on New Year’s Eve in the 400 block of South Kings Highway, the Myrtle Beach Police Department reported.

Officers arrived on the scene at 11:58 p.m. Tuesday after receiving reports of a firearm being discharged. Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported in connection to the incident.

Following an investigation, police arrested Michael David McCombs, 46, of Sumter, South Carolina. McCombs has been charged with discharging a firearm within city limits.
