Man arrested after violent robbery inside D.C. establishment

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 31-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a robbery that left a victim injured inside a Northwest business on Friday afternoon.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:20 p.m. on the 5900 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest. Police say the suspect asked the victim for money inside the establishment. When the victim refused, the suspect assaulted him, stole his property, and fled the scene.

The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital by D.C. Fire and EMS for treatment.

On Saturday morning, officers located and arrested Jerson Flores, who has no fixed address, in connection with the robbery. He has been charged with robbery involving force and violence.

The case remains under investigation as officials review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
