WOODBRIDGE, VA – An 18-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday morning after police responded to an incident at a residence on Mount Pleasant Drive. Dayro Yafeth Matute-Rivera is facing charges of abduction, assault & battery, and resisting arrest.
The police were called to the 13900 block of Mount Pleasant Drive at 12:44 AM, where they discovered a 16-year-old female being held against her will. The victim, who knew Matute-Rivera, was found inside the home with minor injuries from a previous assault by the accused.
When officers attempted to detain Matute-Rivera, he resisted arrest. He is currently held without bond, with a court date pending. The investigation is ongoing as local authorities continue to examine the details of the case.
