LAKEWOOD, NJ — Shawn Frederick, 34, was arrested yesterday afternoon after allegedly committing an armed robbery at a 7-Eleven store located at 200 River Avenue in Lakewood.

Frederick entered the convenience store wielding a metal pipe and advanced toward the clerk behind the counter. The clerk attempted to move away, but Frederick followed him, ultimately cornering the clerk back into his original position.

Climbing over the counter, Frederick took two packs of cigarettes and fled.

Responding officers found Frederick a short distance from the 7-Eleven store and arrested him without further incident. He has been charged with robbery and weapon-related offenses and is currently held at Ocean County Jail.
