Man Arrested for Assault with Firearm in Pasadena Park

Pasadena, MD – On Tuesday, officers from the Anne Arundel County Police Department responded to a report of an assault involving a firearm at Rock Creek Park in Pasadena. The incident occurred at approximately 10:45 a.m. at 79 Bar Harbor Road.

Authorities reported that a suspect approached a male and a female in the park, demanding they leave and threatening to assault them. In an act of self-defense, the 19-year-old male victim displayed a knife. In response, the suspect brandished a firearm and pointed it at both victims.

Police arrived at the scene and took the armed suspect into custody. The firearm was seized during the arrest.

The suspect was identified as James Allen Barsy, a 38-year-old male from Pasadena, Maryland. Barsy is now facing charges related to the incident.
