Man Arrested for DUI and Weapon Offenses in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, DE – The Delaware State Police arrested Shane Pardoe, 43, of Medford, New Jersey, for driving under the influence and felony weapon offenses following an incident last Friday night.

At approximately 10:26 p.m., a trooper responded to a single-vehicle collision on I-95 northbound near Marsh Road.

Pardoe was found in a black Dodge Ram with heavy front-end damage. An inventory search of the truck revealed an unloaded rifle, a loaded handgun, and a handle of whiskey. Pardoe displayed signs of impairment and was taken into custody.

A computer inquiry showed that Pardoe is prohibited from possessing firearms due to a prior felony conviction. He was charged with multiple felonies, including transport of an assault weapon into the state, and was committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $61,001 cash bond.

The Delaware State Police remind the public that charges are allegations, and the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty.
