Man Arrested for Pointing Gun at Officer During D.C. Retail Theft

WASHINGTON, DC—A man has been arrested following an incident where a gun was pointed at a Special Police Officer (SPO) during a theft at a retail store. The event happened in the 800 block of Bladensburg Road in Northeast, D.C., last month.

On the evening of April 20, at approximately 8:04 PM, suspects entered a retail establishment and stole property. When confronted by an on-duty SPO as they attempted to leave, one of the suspects brandished a firearm at the officer.

The officer was unharmed, and the suspects initially escaped the scene.

On Wednesday, 31-year-old Deondre Jordan from Southeast was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including Assault on a Police Officer and Theft.

The investigation continues, and the D.C. Metro Police Department encourages anyone with information about this incident to contact them. In this case, a reward of up to $10,000 is available for information leading to further arrests and convictions.
