Man Arrested for Repeated Rapes of Young Child in Jersey City

Jersey City, NJ – Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has announced the arrest of 28-year-old Nestor Moreno for alleged sex crimes involving a juvenile. The Special Victims Unit of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office apprehended Moreno on Thursday, January 25.

The incidents, involving a 9-year-old girl, reportedly occurred multiple times in 2019 in Jersey City. The victim and Moreno are known to each other. Moreno, a resident of Jersey City, faces charges of Sexual Assault by Contact, a second-degree crime under N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2b, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a third-degree crime under N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1).

Following his arrest at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus, Moreno was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility. He awaits his initial court appearance.
