MILLSBORO, DE – Delaware State Police arrested Davion West, 23, of Millsboro, Delaware, on multiple felony charges following a domestic assault and a subsequent burglary early today.

Troopers were dispatched to a residence on the 25000 block of River Bend Road in Millsboro at about 1:40 a.m., following reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, authorities met with a 20-year-old female victim who declined medical treatment for her leg injury. It was determined that Davion West, her partner, had entered the bedroom where she and their 9-month-old baby were sleeping. An argument ensued, during which West stabbed the victim in the leg with a knife.

After the assault, West fled the scene in a red Mazda 3 stolen from the residence. A trooper patrolling the area spotted the vehicle traveling on Harbeson Road near Carpenter Road. An attempt to conduct a traffic stop was unsuccessful as the Mazda sped away, eventually crashing on private property. West then abandoned the disabled vehicle and fled on foot through a cornfield.

As the search for West continued, troopers received a report of an individual unlawfully entering a garage on Shingle Point Road in Milton. Responding officers found West in the garage and arrested him without incident. A knife was later recovered from the bedroom in the Millsboro residence.
