Man assaulted in failed robbery outside Bronx building, suspect fled in black BMW

BRONX, N.Y. — A 27-year-old man was punched in the face multiple times during a failed robbery attempt outside a Bronx residence on Sunday evening, police said.

The incident took place around 7:37 p.m. in front of 1404 Ogden Avenue, where an unidentified male suspect approached the victim and tried to snatch his necklace after repeatedly striking him in the face.

The attempt was unsuccessful, and the assailant fled the scene in a black BMW sedan heading northbound on Ogden Avenue, according to the police report.

EMS responded and transported the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem, where he was listed in stable condition.

The suspect is described as a male with a medium complexion, last seen wearing a black shirt, grey jeans, and white sneakers.

Police have not announced any arrests or released surveillance footage.
