Man assaulted and carjacked by two suspects in Laurel late Friday night

LAUREL, MD – A man was hospitalized Friday night after being assaulted, robbed, and forcibly removed from his vehicle during a carjacking in the Western District of Anne Arundel County, police said.

At approximately 10:30 p.m. on August 29, officers were flagged down near Ellen Street and North Bruce Street by the victim, who reported being attacked by two male suspects. According to investigators, the men stole the victim’s phone and wallet before physically removing him from his vehicle and fleeing the scene in it.

The victim, whose identity has not been released, was transported to Laurel Regional Hospital for medical treatment. The extent of his injuries was not disclosed.

Detectives from the Regional Crimes Unit are handling the ongoing investigation. No suspect descriptions or vehicle details have been released at this time.
