STARKVILLE, MS – A 20-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly throwing coins and shouting antisemitic slurs at Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy outside a local pizza restaurant.

Police identified the suspect as Patrick McClintock, who now faces a charge of disturbing the peace.

The incident occurred during Portnoy’s visit to Starkville, where he was filming a pizza review, according to reports from TMZ.

In a statement, Sgt. G. Brandon Lovelady of the Starkville Police Department said, “Every person has the right to feel safe and respected in our community.” He noted that while speech alone may be protected, actions that disrupt public order or risk violence will prompt police intervention.

McClintock was formally charged with disturbing the peace, a misdemeanor under Mississippi law. Police did not indicate whether additional charges are being considered. The case remains under review as authorities continue to gather witness statements and video evidence from the scene.
