Man Charged for Auto Theft in Baltimore

BALTIMORE — A 21-year-old man was arrested early Wednesday morning after allegedly attempting to break into vehicles and ultimately stealing one. The incident occurred around 12:20 AM in the 100 block of South President Street.

Police were initially called to investigate reports of an individual tampering with parked cars. Shortly thereafter, it was reported that the suspect had stolen a vehicle and was seen driving away from the scene. Responding officers located the stolen vehicle being driven on the wrong side of President Street and conducted a vehicle stop.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident and was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he faces charges related to the auto theft. The vehicle was successfully recovered and returned to its rightful owner.
