Man Charged for Hate Crime at Jewish Synagogues, Hatzolah Rig

MANHATTAN, NY – Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, Jr., announced the indictment of Lenny De La Rosa, 21, for a series of antisemitic vandalisms that occurred in August.

De La Rosa is facing four counts of Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree as a Hate Crime.

Court records reveal that De La Rosa defaced three synagogues and a Jewish volunteer ambulance on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

His first act of vandalism occurred on August 12, and the spree continued over the next two days, culminating with graffiti on a synagogue and ambulance.

The Manhattan DA’s office, with assistance from the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force, apprehended De La Rosa, who was identified from surveillance materials. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Brendon Mahon, under the supervision of the Hate Crimes Unit.
