Man charged for sexually assaulting 13-year-old girl

BAYONNE, NJ – On August 28, 2020, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit arrested Eric Fischer, age 38, of Bayonne, on charges that he sexually assaulted a 13-year-old female acquaintance on August 18, 2020.

Fischer has been charged with Sexual Assault in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2c(1), a second-degree crime, Sexual Assault in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2c(4), a second-degree crime; Endangering the Welfare of a Child in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1), a second-degree crime; Terroristic Threats in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:12-3a, a third-degree crime; Hindering in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:29-3b(4), a third-degree crime; and Providing False Statements in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:28-2a, a fourth-degree crime. Fischer was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit just after 1:00 p.m. Friday without incident.

Fischer was also charged with a prior incident of sexual contact with the victim on or about November 1, 2019. In that incident, Fischer was charged with Sexual Assault by Contact in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2b, a second-degree crime and Endangering the Welfare of a Child in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1), a second-degree crime.

Prosecutor Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit for the investigation and arrest.
