Man Convicted for Sexually Assaulting Teen Detained at Ocean County Jail

OCEAN, NJ—Manuel Roberto Pineda-Acosta, a Hispanic male, is currently serving time in Ocean County. Pineda-Acosta was processed and booked into the jail on Friday, with his records showing no eligibility for bail.

Known also as “Smurf,” according to jail records, he faces charges for sexually assaulting a minor between the ages of 13 and 16, where he was at least four years older than the victim. This charge is categorized as a serious offense.
