Man fatally shot in chest on Stenton Avenue in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA — A man was shot and killed late Sunday night in the city’s 14th District, police said. The shooting took place at approximately 11:38 p.m. at 5900 Stenton Avenue.

The victim, a Black male believed to be in his mid-20s and currently identified as “John Doe,” was shot once in the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders from Medic 33 at 11:46 p.m., according to police.

Investigators are holding the scene for further examination. No arrests have been made, and no weapons were recovered.

Authorities have not released additional details as the investigation remains ongoing.

The victim’s identity has yet to be confirmed.
